My first post here - North Indonesia

I work and live in North Jakarta in this area known as Pluit. Its north till its literally by the sea as I had posted before in the Thai thread. I wish to spend 40% of my time here and 40% of my time in Thailand and the rest play-masak but now its only 30-60-10.

Anyway here's my first pics of ,y post about Indonesia and its makan of course at a roadside seafood place

See? Its really roadside type but the selection is really fresh and here how they all look after cooking

With a big bottle of Bintang beer it costs 203,500 rupiah or S$26.00 for two person.

Went for my daily morning walks with the ah pehs and took this video of the surroundings of the main road of Pantai Mutiara, funny the video turns out to be blur despite I uploaded it HD into youtube. I used my iPhone 4s to take this.

At 0:32 you see the famous Regatta condominium this is a high-class condo and of course uncle me can only afford to rent the Pantai Mutiara Apartment you see beside the Regatta at 0:38. 2 bedrooms for $750 per month.

I'm uploading another video using my Samsung Galaxy Camera of a video of the surrounding but taken from the apartment.

Thanks a lot brother. Very good thread and pictures. Makes me hungry early in the morning. Hehe. Remember to ask the cook to cut the petai always. I love these beans but if you don't cut them up, some of them might have worms inside.

Note at 2:33 is the new mall with residential project this project is the start of the new Pluit City construction which included reclamation to literally build a city in the sea like our Marina. Very happy just got my driving license yesterday. Have been driving here without one and its no good because all work permit holder here require one to drive not the international driving permit only for holiday. This is how the Indonesian driving license look like. Now I have 3, Singapore, Thai and Indo kekekekeke

Look what I found this afternoon for lunch? Yes bah kut teh. Seriously its not too bad considering I'm in a foreign country. Found this above a wet market's hawker centre near office.

Keong Macan Saus Padang (Tiger Shell Padang sauce) - this is really delicious with the sauce

Giant BBQ Prawns - very fresh and sweet the meat

Petai and Prawns again

There was one more steam crab and all the above with 1 Bintang beer is only S$51
