When it comes to performance vehicles, the real test is on the track. Lap times will tell the whole story. It's not just acceleration and straight line speed. It's about set up flexibility and handling.

I've ordered the TR 86 model. I'm not going to register it for the road. Strictly for track use.

So recently I saw the car displayed in a mall by parallel importer and its going for 2.4mil baht (S$100k), from Toyota dealers will be 2.7mil baht (S$112)

Leongsam since you using this for track meaning racing you should be doing some modification to it for max power output etc etc. May I ask you what modification will you be considering for now before your car arrive?

In NZ, the fully kitted TRD86 model is NZD64,000.

Toyota intends to start a race series with the 86 and I'm not quite sure what sort of modifications will be allowed. The idea is that all the 86s that take part in the series must be identical cars with the same horsepower so the best driver who is capable of setting up the car to suit the conditions is the winner.

I'll keep you up to date with the developments as it is early days yet.

Thank you, its interesting to know

Wife likes the car especially the red one. Bangkok roads are pretty bumpy for sports unless one is in really downtown driving from mall to mall or strictly on highways, if not kinda heart break if drive into potholes and very high humps.
