Yes, this is not exactly going to send them quarking in their boots. Truth is, the exact opposite is going to happen.
The white is going to carry out what they say, the so-called opposition will display no more than 1 ohm in resistance and score some cheap political points along the way.

When the flood gate was first open, where was the resistance? Old teochew Low has been in parliment for more than a decade, and still, there has been no less than a feeble attempt to stop this plan.

The government of Singapore already knew that Singaporean are getting smarter but its just that PAP don't give a damn about how brave you are as they know that most Singaporean are still afraid of the government . Tell me , since when your government ever listen to its people ?

It at least 50yrs since the last time anyone attend a protest demonstration. Today turnout not bad considering the weather plus ppl still doing cny visitation. Today just a baby step for Singapore but it a giant step for Singaporean democracy.
