Bhumibol himself has made donations to numerous development projects in Thailand, in areas including agriculture, environment, public health, occupational promotion, water resources, communications and public welfare.
IMHO, at least with him around Sillypore guys has a much better place to go for entertainment.

Since 1932 they are just figure head!
If they are truly King in spirit & in heart he would have called off all the celebrations that are totally a waste of tax payers' money! All these money spent could have been better allocated to help the poor!
He could have called all organisation to donate the allocated budget to charity instead of having his portraits splashed all over the buildings & on the streets & he could have called all Thais to donate the money spent on yellow shirts to be donated to charity!
But only a egoistical good for nothing will just want all these for stroking of his ego!
Hey! There's the 21 gun salute & the parade march for some dead reptile recently happening in Singapore some years back! The money could have been better utilised for charity too!
