Paul Antony Fernandez,Mr Kenneth Jeyaretnam’s assentor for the Punggol East by-election wrote to the Straits Times :

“As a Punggol East resident, I have reservations about whether the decision was the right one – during 10 days of campaigning, I did not see a Malay, Indian or anyone from a minority race among the WP members.”

He said that he also did not see anyone of minority race among WP members at the WP’s victory parade.

But evidence available in the Straits Times show the following:

If only Paul Antony Fernandez was more patient and attentive, he would not have to eat his words and made to look like a fool.Not only Faizal and Pritam were in the lorry to wave and say their thank yous to PE residents after the election, even during the WP rally speeches, at least one Tamil member addressed the crowd solely in Tamil. Oh pleeese, so try harder next time before playing the "bloody" racist card. One might as well nit- pick and say Singapore UMNO has no non-Malay or Muslim member.
