Reform Party supporter plays the race card against WP

Come to think of it, I also don't recall seeing any Chinese in key positions in RP campaign.

Ptader and/or Paul should go and talk to Pritam.
Find out from him whether he's pleased to be an MP after being selected as a candidate in Aljunied GRC 2011 GE team, despite the mandatory minority candidate slot already being filled.
Can even go further and ask him about the presence of any minority/racial issue.

My bet is his answer will be that yes, he is pleased, no there is no such issue.

It's called tokenism. It's a worldwide practice. A woman on the corporate board, a black police captain in a redneck state etc. It does not disprove that the WP discriminates.

I agree that there is such a thing as tokenism but in the WP case, it is not so obvious as Chinese is the predominant race in Singapore, so if there is only a spattering of minorities here and there, they are in the ballpark in terms of proportional representation.

But look at PAF's own party, the RP, you can be forgiven to think that Indian is the predominant race in Singapore and the handful of Chinese supporters there is actually a very good demonstration of tokenism.

I actually think the WP and Singaporeans have a police case against SPH and this man.

Not only does the letter lie blatantly, but the tone of it also seeks to stir up racial tensions. If SPH is going to allow this kind of shit to appear, and not go unpunished, it speaks volumes about themselves.

WP wont bother to make a police report regarding such matters.

Just ignore it. The truth will be told by itself.

I agree that WP will not report. But that does not mean members of the public will not report.
In any case, I expect a robust reaction to the letter by other ST letter writers. Such an inflammatory
letter cannot go unchallenged: it has already garnered more than 2600 FB LIKES. By tomorrow this
could swell to 10k.

I would not put any value on such remarks from a such a person. He spent $12k to fight a $130 traffic ticket. Like defamation suits, people pay up whether they are right or wrong for cost effective reasons. There are more important things in life.

Many organisations don't bother. Only those who try to be politically correct go down that route.

Which means you agree that all organizations in the world are racist?

Organisations are made up of humans and all humans are inherently racist. It's built into the genetic code of the species.

It's not too difficult playing the "race card" against the WP Chinese Chauvinists.

Check out WP's Png Eng Huat's PE By-Election Rally speech in Hokkien on "huan nah" on 19 January 2013. It's at the 1:48 second mark.

For the Malays and those who don't know Hokkien and what "huan nah" means, it is one of several extremely derogatory, racist term used by Chinese Chauvinists and Chinese race bigots to refer to the minority Malay community. It means "uncivilised, barbaric".

It is the poisonous equivalent of the White man referring to blacks as "niggers".

The fact that it rolled off WP's PEH's mouth ever so effortlessly when he used this term to refer to the Malay community reflects the ingrained racism and chauvinistic attitude of the WP Chauvinists and WP race bigots towards the minorities.

WP chauvinists try to hide it or use such racist labels only within a private circle, thinking that no one beyond that circle will know. Of course, when they are "anonymous" in a forum like this, they let it rip. But it is simply a matter of time before a Chinese chauvinist and race bigot trips up because such bigotry and racism are ingrained within the DNA of a chauvinist even after that chauvinist and race bigot becomes a public figure and Member of Parliament.

KJ supporters are desperate, but I am not sure KJ is supporting this move,as to do so would mean the end of RP,the most promising opposition when it started off not long ago,I pity KJ who must be very down although he did some good works for us.I hope KJ would take the right decision to set him off to a new life again.

This British traitor ought to go and contest back home. See how he'll be treated by the BNP

I pity KJ who must be very down .

Only his closest confidantes would know his state of mind. It could be that he is living in his own little world where having been a hedge fund manager and carrying a certain family name = deserving of respect. If he is happy with 1,2% then I am also happy for him.

But the fact is that wherever he goes people will point at him and laugh behind his back.

How shall one calls a Malay in a Hokkien or Teochew?

One of the two things that crossed my mind was is PAF ptader.

The other thing is, is WP a little too Chinese for its own good? Well, there is no better place than to look at the pictures in this thread.

I must say that it's very hard for me to draw conclusions either way. And I also have to say that they're having a little too much fun to have time for parliament work.

That must be the reason when he begged his smart brother to join and help him in politics.
