i don't know how an independent electoral office works, but the government always manages to interfere into it's operations.

the British Conservative party complained of Labour gerrymandering for years. now the Conservative are in power. David Cameron plans to restore 'equilibrium' to UK constituencies: there will be some boundary changes. that simply means the Conservative will gerrymander the districts to its advantage. think the British have an independent electoral office.

East Coast GRC is damned huge and it covers Pulau Ubin. If WP can capture this big chunk of territory, WP can turn Pulau Ubin into a getaway Kampong resorts to relax and enjoy the soothing lives of yesteryears.
