PAP cannot destroy WP, in fact it caused WP to grow from strength to strength.
But the social media, spearheaded by a bunch of jealousy motivated jokers or "displaced" politicians... could and have done a lot of damage to WP.
I would not go into the possible conspiracy theory that these people are PAP instigated, have to give them the benefit of doubt.
But every true blooded Sinkie who wants PAP to be kept in check will not do anything detrimental to the Oppositions' cause.

I think WP made an unprecedented address on the views of the online community at the latest rally. LTK even addressed people whom he called "netizens". LTK has never addressed the internet community in his life.

The social media are mostly activists and like activists, they favour parties who will push their own pet issues. Bigger parties are most unlikely to do this because they have to cater to their own supporters whose views are closer to the larger majority.

Attacks (or praises) are most effective if they are grounded in reality. Otherwise they serve as a reinforcement, not influence, and add to the database of common arguments. Or else PAP would have been out of power 10 years ago. People know how to form their own opinion.
