These two men are clearly on different wavelengths from the electorate. Mr Jeyaretnam claimed that “an overwhelming proportion of people welcomed us to Punggol East, and they knew us and they were glad to see us contesting”, yet it is obvious from social media and online forums that supporters of the opposition cause are overwhelmingly against either of them running for the by-election. Did he read the grounds wrongly, or chose simply to ignore it? And was he encouraged to join in after SDA’s foolhardy decision to go ahead?

As for Mr Lim, the less said the better. We all know what happens to a fool and his money. First time round, we were sympathetic; second time, it gets comical. He must still be sore that WP tried to snatch the ward he laid claim to.

RP argues that they offer a different policy platform and philosophy from the Worker’s Party, and that sending another WP candidate into parliament serves no benefit for the opposition cause. What benefit is there, then, to send another PAP candidate into parliament instead by virtue of their meddling? With odds so heavily stacked against the opposition, every little victory is to be celebrated, even if it goes to WP. This inability to see beyond party self-interest will only hurt RP’s credibility in the eyes of the people in the long run.

KJ is from ancient Camelot while DL could be the court jester.

DL and KJ are really just badly misunderstood men.

seriously. what do people expect them to say: yes. we are spoilers. we have no support at all. we are here to split the opposition votes. opposition cause - fuck you. only my personal and party interest matter... like that ?

of course, they must paint a good picture of their election campaign to the very end. even if it's far from the reality. if they kept saying things that suggest election win look very very bleak. think 1-3% votes also don't have.

Both are brave men who stand for a democratic society for Singapore in the face of wild barbarians

kj and especially dl should ask themselves about the chances of winning. if they can't win, then don't spoil the chance for wp which has the most potential to win PE over.

with these 2 clowns inclusion, they ve just lowered wp's chance of winning. in the end, pap wins. sad :(

What is the point of forming a political party if it does not compete in elections?
Only through the election will any party knows if it has ground support or not.

All this talk of spoiling the chance in a multi-cornered fight is undemocratic and thuggish.

It's the same as the dumb by-election effect of by-gone years. It failed so miserably because
no electorate will give chance to a wimpy party that thinks too much for its own good.

Why would they be from another planet? There are already lots of dumbfucks on Earth, it's not like you need to go to another planet to find dumbfucks.

Actually the saddest fact is the 60.1% of dumbfucks that we have.

Well said.
Much as I would like to see PAP lose....but if opposition cannot win in a multi corner fight then its just too bad.
Much as I suspect DL to be a pap stooge, we can't stop him from contesting....
Ultimately it's the voters...if they want to be dumbfucks carrying on the 60.1% tradition of gettinf anal fucked then there's nothing we the 39.9% can do....

Desmond Lim told media he will try to get supports from KJ at his rally. Another clowns trying to show unity. If the voters ask both at the rally who should they vote then, KJ or DL? I wonder how will their answer sound like? both doing a 69 posture.

Just to call note to the fact that throughout this whole MCF thing, WP kept its silence, did not say a single thing except that it was contesting the seat. SDP was the one trying to seduce WP not to contest with the weird MP/TC proposal. Don't think WP ever mentioned anything about SDA and RP candidates. If they lose their deposits, please remember they went in with open eyes. So where is the thug you are pointing the finger at? WP knew full well that people like you will come out to make accusation.

Let me say this, there is nothing democratic about a MCF when the main objective of the Opposition is to kick out the PAP. By voting for a candidate that has no chance of winning, yes you have the right of choice but you cannot put him in that seat so how can it be democratic even to you?

And as an opposition supporter, you help to send the PAP candidate into parliament, you effectively deny yourself and the other opposition supporters the right to put an opposition candidate into parliament. Mind you the opposition supporters could be in the majority so denying the majority of this choice and satisfaction so how can that be democratic? If your act of voting cannot deliver you success for your candidate or the opposition which you desire, does it matter you actually vote or just tell your friends I support this guy.

SDP had tried to persuade WP not to contest but many of their supporters had managed to convince their leaders not to contest and many opposition supporters commended them for making that wise and democratic decision. Evidently you are not an Opposition supporter. You actually want the Opposition to lose.
