This Halal elevator really takes the cake..I mean I know a good majority of Muslims do not give a damn if an elevator is being used to transport a whole bunch of pigs..but like any ordinary person of any other faith, will simply avoid if and when pigs are being transported in the lift..now in regards to the usage of Allah, the hidden story is that there are groups of evangelical Christians in Malaysia who in their zeal try to spread the faith to the native population, that is the Malays who also happen to be Muslim..thus, using the word Allah may confuse the masses..confusion causes misintepretation and misintepretation causes misunderstanding which usually leads to chaos..

Do you know JAKIM charges restaurants and hotels for certification and inspection of the "halal" logo. It is Big business. They have a monopoly. Previously, local Islamic religious groups can certify these places. But now they cannot.

So having the halal logo means your food costs slightly more. So Malay restaurants just can't be bothered.
Other restaurants can just use " no pork served" and save thousand a year.
