Remember this guy? He was PAP's 'sacrificial lamb' for the Hougang by-election.

The colorectal doctor may be another 'sacrificial lamb' for the PAP, because there is little risk of embarrassment if he loses. He's a new face, and he'll just go back to his colorectal trade.

Had the pappies wanted to win, they would have fielded a more prominent PAP candidate.

UPDATE: The PAP has introduced Dr Koh Poh Koon as its candidate for the Punggol East by-election.

Deputy Prime Minister Teo Chee Hean, in presenting Dr Koh at a press conference, said that the PAP had been planning to field him for the next General Election and after considering several candidates, "felt he would be the best candidate for Punggol East".

I viewed with great distress Deputy Prime Minister Teo introduction of Dr Koh at the press conference as candidate for Punggol East SMC.
Obviously this is a third rate candidate that PAP, in scraping the bowel, chooses to pull out this rabbit for the by-election.

Here's why:-

1. Dr. Koh is a member of PAP since 2002 or earlier with his recorded involvement at Telok Blangah Crescent Resident Committee.
2. He didn't make the first cut as candidate for the 2011 General Election
3. He missed the second cut in 2011 when Steve Tan (of Tampines) was forced to withdraw from the race.
4. Dy PM Teo stressed that they were only "planning to field him for the next General Election" and only "after considering several
candidates" that he is their best rabbit!
5. He is being parachuted from Telok Blangah into Punggol East just to meet an exigency need.

So, is PAP short changing Punggol East SMC electorates again with a half-cook candidate that will only be ready in 2016?

Apparently PAP has no better choice on the ground and need to parachute a candidate from elsewhere to Ponggol.

His selling point is nothing but his paper credentials. I don't know if voters will still buy this nowadays.

PAP makes first move by intro their candidate whereas oppo so far no one come fwd to identify themselves. so, PAP must be confident that whoever offered by oppo is not worthy of them to put a front-liner eg: Ong / Yeo....
