Dear felow forummers, let us all be fair to the 60.1% of the population who had, in the past wholeheartedly supported the ruling PAP for reasons best known only to themselves.

Events of the past and most recent ones like the Speakergate, AIM, influx of foreigners, crowded public transport, high food prices, abominable medical fees, out-of-reach HDB prices and the recent legal actions taken by our wealthy leaders against poor people could have changed the minds of these 60.1% of our population. They may have finally seen the light at the end of the tunnel.

Moreover, these "die-hard supporters" could also be growing old and maybe physically and emotionally cared for by their working children. Some may even be on the streets as karung-gunis competing with foreign karung-gunis in our midst.

Food, medical care, housing and even daily pampers and maids may be provided for by their children and these children may be "gently rebuking" these aging parents to take choose a different path so that there can be change in society.

Living with such children and facing a bleak future, these people may have finally realised their past follies and may now spurn the very party that they once supported all these years. Basic human behaviour.........People are more easily swayed by those who provide for them. The same apply to a State that cares for the people.

So in conclusion dear readers, instead of continuously bludgeoning these folks, let us handle them with human understanding, care and concern. Forgive them for what they have done before and create a situation that would encourage them to cast their ballots "intelligently" in the coming days and near future. Every one counts.............Togather we make a difference.

we can start with the civil servants :o:o:o

Agreed Zhihau,

In all fairness the low-level civil servants are also a suffering lot and they too disagree with the many unpopular government policies that are in place for they and their kids are on the receiving ends just like the other Singaporeans.

Many of them are also looked down upon by MPs and chided by grassroots leaders. Ask any front-line civil servant and he or she will tell you their problems.

The MPs from the PAP thinks highly of themselves and the grassroots leaders (RCs etc..) feels that they are all "sikit-atas" (elevated people).

I personally have spoken to many of them and feel sorry for these poor civil servants.

You will be surprised that many are pro-opposition for they know that "voting is secret".

Those that are "glued" to the government are the high-ranking ones who enjoy obscenely high salries and other perks.

However, always remember that the majority in the civl service are the low-ranking ones.

You find more privates and NCOs in the Army and Police then you will find BGs and ACs.

Have to agree with TS. We should be pointing the finger at entities and individuals that actually prop up the regime such as the People's Association, NTUC, the Press, etc. We should also encourage good quality people to step forward to help or contest elections. We should the internet to education those who are not familiar with the cronyism, the abuse and the nonsense that is done with tax payers name.

I think for many Singaporeans, the pictures of PA Staff going on bonding trips to overseas destinations with PAP MPs using tax payers money was news and an eye opener. Till today the Govt has not ever explained who pays for what.

Mr Koh,

I fully suppork you! Truly spoken from the heart.

The PAP will still be in government after the next election unless ?????

They will still be in power after the next GE. But then we can still squeeze their balls in the meantime when the opposition wins more seats. We can squeeze their balls better than anybody in Geylang.

Step 1 is to squeeze their balls. And then we check whether they turn over a new leaf.
Step 2, which at this point is still optional, is to hang them by the balls. Step 2 cannot be accomplished without step 1 first.

When we squeeze their balls, they will either be screaming in pleasure or screaming in pain. Either way they will be screaming.
