Well at least they aren't carrying that toilet bowl around like wearing it on her head. You would only know about it if you visited the toilet and it's not considered to be part of the showcase when one visits someone else's home. It is all a phase, a cycle. Indians, Chinese are splurging in luxury goods because they can now and want to show that they have "made it". Ever seen the rich white folks do the same? Warren buffet, steve jobs, bill gates every splurge like these in gold? What do they usually wear when they go out? There was a good article on what the rich wear in America a while back. The blacks when they are rich would deck out their outfit in gold, while the white just continues as normal. The psychology is that when you are from a poor minority group you want to show the world that you have made it.

Agree.. All loves to show off but these Mamas really tasteless when they tried to show off.. Back then I knew of this local Mama.. Bought a 2nd hand Gold Rolex.. Everyday would wear the watch when he was goin out, even to the extent of wearing it while swimming in a public pool..
Each time when he's at the kopitiam to drink his usual Tiger, he would always lift his beer glass with his right hand to show us all his Rolex..
One day my Uncle saw him at the Kopitiam without his favourite Rolex on his right wrist.. My Uncle then asked where's his favorite watch.. He told my Uncle, he lost it while holidaying in Bintan..
