If TracyTan888 and Lily Neo were to lend their suppost to NSP, they would have done society a great favour.
Specifically NSP because, in its present form, it has acquired the characteristics of being a 'lovable' political party mainly by virtue of the presence of Nicole, Jeanette and Hazel, among others. Their mere presence of Lily Neo (eg. as a supporter-worker) can tremendously boost the profile and thus popularity of the party with the masses.
But to gain maximum effectiveness, first some of the older (male) leaders should give way and let the more suitable new group speak for the party, while they themselves can become passionate supporters. This is because the older leaders, apart from generally not having the oratorial and language skills to impress the masses, their presence may be somewhat of a hindrance. And for them to speak in public will be instantly disastrous. I shall not be specific in naming any, but even if I do, it should be taken in good spirit as constructive feedback view.
The more articulate ones among the new male leader/s must then also make concerted efforts to polish up their public image in all it's aspects, including personal mannerisms and unconscious habits and gestures. Such things are not as trivial as thought when it comes to vote numbers.
Of course Lily can also lend her presence to WP or even SDP if she suddenly feels so inclined to. Much will depend on how Lily views her existence and role in our society. It would certainly be a lamentable waste if such an outstanding and relatively rare specimen of humanity like her puts her heart in the wrong place.

My first hope is for good members to resign from the PAP..people like TCH, Lily, Tan Soo Koon, Wang Kai Yuen, Augustine Tan, etc..their resignations will open the gate for others to follow. Hopefully, another group will split up, leave the pap and challenge the hawks in the pap (LHL, TCH, KBW, VB, Shanmugan, LSS, WKS, MBT, RL)
But what about the good Dr Lily Neo? Am I not serious enough? Will someone prick her conscience?

Lily cant be a credible Opposition politician now after so many years of serving a rogue party
so it is best for her to help in the backroom
Ultimately good MUST overcome evil. It is plain and easy to see what evil is. 'Hopefully' is just not good enough. Those with the means and potential to help influence the course of society for the better must not just sit on their comfortable fat buttocks any longer.

I have to agree with you on that, though. But I have no doubt that there are other people like Lily Neo, or better than her.
From appearance, one may suspect that Lily may be a fake 'do gooder', which means to say she does what she does only for show to present a favourable impression. But then that may not be so. It is really puzzling especially for ordinary voters.

do u think she can run on a WP or NSP, or SDP ticket? The more conservative and traditional singaporeans will think that she is not honourable as she has turned against the pap, the hand that fed her and she may lose many of such votes

Or you chose it, later in life, as in when you were a teenager or young adult?
Based on my youthful days in Singapore, there were very few classmates and friends whose given name at birth were: Tracy, Michelle, Sarah, etc., or John, David, Michael, etc.
I recall one teacher in Secondary Three, who insisted on calling Michael, Allan, Harold, and a few others, by their given names in Chinese, although many of them are "peranakan" and had Chinese and "English" given names.
Wow, I suppose that after being in Toronto for about 3 decades, I continue to use the Chinese name given to me by my parents, that based on your reasoning, my name does not sound cosmopolitan nor professional.
There is a difference between:
1. my mum's given name - which is your mother's name; for example if your mother's name is Lee Swee Lian, Lee being her surname, and Swee Lian her given name
2. the name my mother gave me (in my birth certificate) - is your given name; for example if your father's surname is Tan, and either your father or mother or both gave you Wei Ling, your given name is Wei Ling. But in the event that they gave you, at birth, Tan Wei Ling Tracy, it means you did not acquire Tracy in your youth or adult.
In your context, I believe your intention is to write:
The name my mother gave me is in my birth certificate.

I believe that Dr. Lily Neo and her spouse have been medical professionals for decades, and are comfortable enough, to be independent candidates or as a member of another political party. There are many in their profession, who are not fond of the present ruling party.
