Stickers on buses to encourage commuters to make room



Oh what a primitive move by LTA - stickers! Seems so 3rd world.
Why can't the bus operators install all buses with a PA system?
This way, just like MRT Trains, the drivers can make all relevant announcement is a civilized manner.
I have seen many a times the driver trying to turn around and shout at the top of his voice and many passengers just wondering what he/she is trying to say!
Just a basic communication tool is very low cost and we dont need to raise bus fares for this.
And while at it, they should also implement the following:-

• walkie-talkie - so that every bus driver is in comms with central and also other bus driver - this can be useful when tackling 'bunching' problems, as the front infront can skip some bus stops so that it can get ahead.
• A Basic GPS system, so that in diversions etc the drivers are familar with the routes to take.

All these are technolgies that have come down drastically in price and as a 1st world transport system should have been implemented long time ago.

These LTA farkers have yet to be squeezed in a packed bus full of sweaty FT Ah Nehs carrying their laptop bags..

No amount of Hugo Boss perfume can eradicate the toxic smell on their armpits..

I don't really think management is entirely concerned about the comfort of peasants. The stickers may simply be a public relations exercise.
