Custom is that every silk (QC) must appear together with a junior, shows that he is big shot ma.
USD 10,000 per day is only for days when QC appears in court, does not include the preparatory work before that.

Forgot to mention, my master was care le fair to QC during 50s' prosecutions against strikers and "rioters".

Yup it truly does look to be that. The person hiring the QC also seems pretty nonchalent about it. Probably cos it's not his money. I think some ppl would rather serve the jail term than hire a QC that's what i think.

No I can't, but some secretaries and lawyers in my firm can. They can act as my translators - ahem I mean care le fairs - only for the cheem ideas. I'm sure Mdm Vella knows some English. Singlish also can. Queen's English is only for use in court, where I will solemnly say "with the greatest of due respect ..." before I proceed to humtum my "learned friend" on the other side. It's so much fun, I don't believe I'm getting paid for this.
