A study conducted by researchers from the National University of Singapore (NUS) showed that a Singaporean household earning $5,000 in 2017 would be able to buy only a three-room flat.

Associate Professors Chia Ngee Choon and Albert Tsui made this projection in their study commissioned by the Ministry of Manpower.

The researchers made the following calculations for younger Singaporeans entering the workforce today and looking to buy an HDB flat in 2017 when they are about 30 years old:

As usual stupid SDP is scaring the public to promote their moronic 99yr rental plan. The projections of the MoM study states that those below the 30th percentile(low income household) can afford to pay off a 3 Rm flat and still retire at 65 with CPF savings enough to provide them with 70 per cent of the monthly income that they earned at 55. SDP conveniently skipped this part. Obviously if someone prefers to have less CPF savings they can buy a bigger flat.

Furthermore the actual article states that
Take for example the base case, when we look at the median worker at say, 50 percentile, we have assumed that this worker will buy a four-room flat. If this household decides to buy a flat type that is one size bigger, say a five room, then we'll see the income replacement rate fall from 70 per cent to 58 per cent," he added.

Only stupid moronic opposition supporting retards will believe the stupid bullshit that SDP post
