I just had a 5th year gathering reunion with my sec school Friends, I'm surprised that none oF them cooks!!! When asked why, they said too troublesome, don't like to wash etc etc... I'm aghast!!!

None had been trained since young. Even those who are much much older than me could not do a single dish. Guess what do they do?

Sinkiepoor household become like American household already: nothing is ever cooked at home. Dinner is outside in a Restaurant 6 days a week. On the one day dinner is eaten at home, it is with pre-cooked food bought from outside restaurant, or deliver by McDonald's dispatch rider.

The lucky households have Filipino housemaid to cook dinner once in a while. Taste like sh*t, but still, at least it is home-cooked food.

Sinkie household, on the 1 day a month a family member cooks dinner, odds are 9 out of 10 it is by the Husband. I think modern Sinkie woman don't even know what a Frypan looks like.

Cooking is a survival skill and a badge to prove independence. If the cook goes on strike and there no Japanese pre-packed TV dinners in the fridge, you mean you starve to death rather than go source for ingredients to cook?
Japs have never cut up a whole chicken since 1970s (supermarts do it for them) and now the young claim they know how to cook by boiling pre-cooked aluminum packets and pouring it on top of microwaved precooked rice or a pack of instant noodles. Wah skilled in cooking man.

The Spore lifestyle is not very healthy.

Spore children spend more time with maids then with their parents. This weakens the family bonds. The kids are socialised with alien values.

The modern Sporean family is more likely to eat out instead of cooking at home. They never consider the health aspects. I've heard that some homes don't even have kitchens.

It is a matter of choice.

I try to exercise 4 to 5 mornings a week, with a 12 minute run or step up or eliptical (unsure of spelling?), followed by about 40 minutes of weight / eqpt muscle strengthening exercises.

My wife can cook but she is not a Sinkie. However because of her hakka upbringing all her dishes taste so blend to a cantonist like me :(

most chinese food are blend and taste like medicine due to herbs etc.

if very good at bonking, no need to cook also never mind. My wife also like that. But now her age older, her battery is running flat. maybe due to hormones changing as she is reaching 50.
