If you blink first that mean you disinterest in the lion.

Tonychat will should at the Lion, "you stupid Songkee" cos Lion is Singa in Malay.

OA will threaten the Lion to zap and infact it.

KNNBCCB won't harm the Lion cos it is not the Indian Lion.

This guy is lucky so far. Wild animals are unpredictable and one day if he does this too often it might not be a happy ending. Most probably there is another person holding a rifle in case the lion decides to attack.

The Lion Whisperer news is quite old and I have not followed the recent events. I am expecting to hear the news that he has been killed by one of them one day. It will be no surprise to me at all.

A hypothetical question. Let's say you are alone walking in an African bush and suddenly you came across a lion staring at you. What do you do?

Thanks for these two threads, including the jeep one. Good info from the forummers here. I guess felines are different from canines and must be treated differently. Never confuse the two.

My dad and I faced off a puma in the Siberian steppe once.

no joke. puma is native to the american continents and not known to cross the bering straits to siberia. in north america, it is called the mountain lion, and in south america, it is the cougar and or puma. what you see in the siberian steppe is most likely the siberian polecat. if the cia airdropped a female and a male puma for eco-covert ops on the siberian steppe, every top zoologist specializing in siberian cats would have known about it. :p

Is this trivia or a very useful thread that may well save your life one day?

Honest? I initially felt it trivial (with an l), but once good postings came in and I started to learn more, i realized the guys here had made it into a useful thread.

It is possible it can be useful as a few other wild animals react similarly. Rubber tappers in Malaysia and India wear masks behind their heads to make predators think they are facing them directly.

Another thing that can help with other wild animals is to make yourself larger than you are. This funny scene between a small little boy and a hyena may explain it better.:D

natives in a tribal village wear rings around their necks to survive a feline attack. if a sizable cat like a leopard could not choke the victim to death within a minute, and the prey were to fight loose and claw or hit back, the cat would move on, thinking for a while before the next attack....... "wtf?!" :p
