I WISH to comment on the standard of professionalism by the Olympic report team, namely Mark Richmond and Jade Seah.
I feel they should behave in a more professional manner and report as it is. Mark's attempts at word puns and jokes are themselves a joke. It really isn't funny at all, cringe-worthy at best. And Jade has been seen slapping Mark's arm a couple of times as if they were in a private conversation.
The last straw was on Tuesday when Mark mentioned guns and Jade went 'only in USA lah'. It is a national broadcast and when broadcasters use Singlish, it just shows disrespect for viewers and is a slap on promotion of good English. Go ahead, pepper you language with Singlish with your friends, but on a national broadcast on a prestigious event like the Olympic Games, it just shows how proud we are of ourselves.
