Dr Chee will not cede power.. He still thinks he's the man for SDP and for Sporeans.. But he just won't understand that his brand style of politics still makes most Sporeans steer away from him and his Party in every GE..

WP did well garnering the support of the HDB heartlanders.. This was done over a period of many painstaking years going from door to door, market to market, face to face with ordinary Sporeans in the HDB heartlands.. This is what that wins votes..

Last year they managed to savour the fruits of their labour when they clinched Aljunied.. In 2016, they'll have a a bigger harvest with East Coast and Joo Chiat ripe for the picking..

One thing more is I really hope the SDP CEC realise how tarnished the CSJ name is,,and hopefully vote to overthrow him. To be honest when I see the rallys at SDP in the last election, what they say is really nothing wrong,,,Vincent, Alec Tok etc brought up many good points,,and Vincent in his tv debate with Tartman and Lily neo (I just guessing the lau chio bu name hor) was impressive,,,if they are in parliament and go on the offensive,,,Pinky loong cancer sure come back due to the extra stress,,,however SDP did not perform well despite its quality candidates. Look at how badly they fared in Holland and that ALec Tok contesting SMC..

SDP is no threat to the PAP due to CSJ ability to self destruct,,the problem is it is much better at damaging the other Oppositions parties chances of winning more seats and breaking PAP stranglehold

I can see that there is little what Chee or his members can do when Singapore is not progressing as a country that embrace freedom and choices as an utmost need as free citizens. Why can't he just quit? Singapore is already hopeless.

It's a chicken and egg situation. If most of the citizens show no real interest in greater freedom and choice then it serves little purpose for anyone to shove those down their throat.

The world works in mysterious ways, and PAP elders, in spite of their self perceived wisdom and IQ, cannot control everything.

The last time I saw CSJ in person, he is not looking very healthy. Years of high stress has taken a toll on his health. He has also mellowed with age. Let's hope CSJ has grown some wisdom over the past 15 years.

CSJ has been in active politics for 20 years. If it is the case that he is not in the best of health then he really ought to call it quits. Of course, the question arises as to what he would be able to do if he ends his political activities. There may not be any realistic openings in Singapore.
