School holidays offer lower traffic but ERP up from Nov 5

SINGAPORE - The Electronic Road Pricing (ERP) rates for six gantries leading to the CTE and ECP will be revised from Nov 5.

Four of the affected gantries are located on the south-bound CTE after Braddell Road.

From 7.30am to 8am, the ERP charge will go up by S$1 to S$4. (25%!!!)

Two other affected gantries are located at Fort Road leading to the ECP and the KPE slip road onto the ECP. From 8.30am to 9am, the ERP charge will go up by S$1 to S$5. (20%!!!)

The rates for the other gantries remain unchanged.

The Land Transport Authority said the increase came after the completion of its quarterly review of traffic conditions on ERP-priced roads and expressways. (Using preceding months' traffic to justify rate increase in subsequent months, even when the traffic is expected to be lower).

Certainly parents may take their brats for an overseas holiday, but most of the time they would be hanging out at the malls in the city area.

For the 60% it is Everyday Remember PAP, for they don't mind, getting ripoff & paying, for they are sold the "medicine show' balm that it helps them to travel faster for it controls the traffic flow. What to do?..these are daft sheep!:p

Fiscal controls on ERP is just so passe ..don't the powers that be realise it just doesn't work anymore. What more school hols??

From $3 to $4, increase should be (4-3)/3 x 100% = 33.33%.

From $4 to $5, increase should be (5-4)/4 x 100% = 25%.

Hope that will increase all ERP to min $2 no more 50 cent.
