Australians Amy Cheong and Stephen Forshaw employed by NTUC and SMRT respectively. Amy Cheong has run back to Australia after someone filed a police report against her for making some online racist remarks.

Kim is not alone, there are plenty of Singaporeans in the same predicament.
I was employed in a senior management position until the 2008/2009 economic slowdown, drawing S$300K annually. Was consequently prematurely retired. Have been unemployed since then.
Wrote innumerable job applications and participated in several e2i & CDC arranged job fares and was even unwittingly sent by WDA for perfunctory skill upgrading courses in service excellence. Am willing to go down to a tenth of what I was drawing and no less hard striven and hard driven. The outcome however was humiliating when all that were on offer at such job fares were security guards, cleaners, taxi-drivers, F&B service attendants etc that do not employ my knowledge and skill sets.
I was in the 18% tax bracket and served my national service as a loyal born and bred Singaporean. I have never gained from any social handouts and do not intend to as I believe that I should be earning my keeps. Stout of heart, keen of mind and strong of limbs, I have been brutally denied and I am disillusioned. When the read the likes of economic migrants portrayed herein edging us out in the professional job market, I cringed with revulsion and anger.
Like Kim, I have never felt so let-down by a government that I had so fervently supported. I am all the wiser now after this distressful experience.

Hey Bro, welcome to the club of qualified but jobless Singaporeans. My wife a SVP in a foreign bank specialising in wealth management was disposed of her job by a European foreigner from HK. Eventually he was fired as well for non performance. No talent but simply booklicking. Fired for just that – wrong boots.
She is still unemployed after 24 months of search. Yet we read in the shitty times that the banks are in need of experienced personnel. Do you really think that the banks run by foreigners would give a Singaporean the opportunity. Get real. They will only give their kind that opportunity. Much has been written about DBS run by foreign Indians giving their kind the opportunity to work in Singapore. Same applies to European banks run by Europeans giving their kind the same opportunity. Go to Shenton Way and see for yourself the abundance of foreigners.
Does the PAP care. Hey we have to look out for ourselves. No legislation for local job protection means no jobs locally. So why vote for these ar..h…. While we suffer in silence, they enjoy their million dollar salary looking after the FTs. Well we will see come 2016…
