Be responsible for your own health.....

Very true, especially at bus stops. When they first banned smoking at bus stops, it was wonderful smoke free air while waiting at bus stops. Nowadays they like to site one or two bins at two ends of the stop or at least one in the middle (behind the stop). Some ciggy addicts will purposely stand next to the bins and smoke away and their smoke will drift towards waiting passengers at the bus stop.

Where are all the NEA officers enforcing the law, or they just choose not to do anything now that there are more smokers in Singapore from the flood of FTs admitted? Or are the enforcers themselves FTs and therefore ignore the issue?:(

they arent enforcing the law at all lah. just now i passed by the bus stop outside amk mrt station, got 1 old uncle happily smoking at the bus stop, note, he wasnt smoking away from the bus stop but at the bus stop itself, nobody cared a hoot

nea can pass many laws but as long as there's no enforcement, the laws passed are as good as not passed

Even increase the prices, majority smokers still smoke ! It just cannot deter much effect

lol.... that's becoz past hikes are too small to cause any impact lah :p
if they dare to hike as much as the nz chenghu hikes, i m sure it can deter some

This is very true. If you know smoking is bad and you continue to smoke, you are digging your own early grave. If you know drinking is bad and you continue to drink, again you are digging your own early grave. If you are obese, you have to make effort to reduce your weight and to reduce the complications that will follow.

Ultimately, it boils down to oneself taking responsibility for his own health.

What about sudden death ? What about cancer? What about those genetically determined and pre-programmed diseases? It's important we have some savings in whatever form for our future healthcare expenditure because healthcare cost will escalate ....

So take care of your own body right now!

Sometimes one can do one's best to be fit and healthy, but if something is already fated, there's not much that can be done.

I am fit and healthy but I am at times reminded - by school friends who had suddenly died or suffered a stroke - that unexpected calamities can occur. So, as I get on in life and in age I prepare for the inevitable. No need to wring one's hands in despair. Life and death are 2 sides of the same coin.

yes bro i totally agreed. we will try our best to take good care of our health. if death comes prematurely, we have to accept it gracefully and then say good-bye....rather sad to leave all the good friends ...and you don't really know where you are going....i think back to dust....
