You are right on the spot that the miw is very free with money but only in so far as it's for them to enjoy or to puff up their feather. Well in so far as citizens are concerned you can forget about them being generous with us. To us citizens the $1B for the GBTB were god sent and monies well spent when we think of the many Billions that they have rolled as dices on our behalf without any accountability. Just count ourselves lucky to taste at least that $1B for that GBTB. Have they make a mistake in building that GBTB? Even our only elected Opposition which is our only salvation is looking at the other way and have become incumbent friendly much to the delight of the miw. Our only hope now is to sit tight until 2016 and hope that we are there to do the needful not only for ourselves but also our children as well. At least now we can walk and enjoy that $1B GBTB but the same cannot be said of our children's long long term investments. Now you know why many prudent female citizens do not want to do her part in populating the country for many still do not have sight of that long long term investments as promised. How about you, Lady? Are you certain that the long long term investments that virtually dwarf the $1B GBTB is still there for your off-spring as promised by our so styled Founding Father of the Nation.

All the talk about Medishield Medifunds and Medisave; health insurance coverage etc are red herrings. The stark reality is still the same-cheaper to die in Singapore than to seek treatment. I am sure many who have killed themselves are suffering from all kinds of ailments; despair and poverty notwithstanding! I would surmise rich people rarely kill themnselves; if they suicided, it's unlikely to do with money issues. The poor is always the hardest hit! Surely the PAP is being very tight-fisted.

If I have a vote at certain GRCs or SMCs, even the opposition coalition send their A team, I still won't vote for them.

The pap spent so much money on Suzhou, so much money was wasted by the pap during the 2008/09 financial crisis..so much money was spent on inviting foreign students to come on an all expense paid study, including regular allowances..someone shd hold the pap responsible for wasting tax payers' monies

it looks like the pap will not loosen the purse strings when it comes to help poor singaporeans. the annual budget for MCYS was less than $2B...less than twice the cost of GBTB and probable less than what the SAF pays for the F15SGs. And MCYS takes care of CD, Youth and Sports!!! That shows the priority of the pap...why did we allow the pap to neglect the youths and the aged and the poor?

i agree with you. we shd compel the pap to publicly reveal the causes of suicides?
