To make up for disservice done is one reason BUT the main reason is to divert attention to the fact that out of 80,000 PMET unemployments agency like WDA only managed to get 2,000 jobs for the retrenched!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Datz a pathetic 2.5% - after 2004 PAP pledged to work hard to find/create jobs for these middle layers. They have not delivered on their promise GE after GE and yet have NO shame drawing big fat pay. Even the 2000 who reportedly got jobs, we dun know what type? Izzit sweep fastfood floor or Mc Donald jamban?
A fren of mine with MBA was offered $2k from GLC - way below what it pays entry level jobs; clear cut discrimination of the aged from GLC. I wonder why aged PAPists are not disadvantaged similarly...

Gahmen is simply paying lip service to these PMETs......... my fren approached first DS of WDA n later NTUC chief. Dat was many years ago n he is still looking for job 60% of his last drawn pay. Looks like either gahmen got unwritten rules or just eyewashes the problems faced by PMETs
