This matter is being investigated and we will have a report in due course. This is a serious concern to all of us and will be addressed shortly. The Labour Movement centers on inclusivity and we will not accept words or action of any of our staff that is insensitive or offending to any community.

And this is how another opposition supporting loser is born

SINGAPORE: The labour movement is investigating an inappropriate comment allegedly made by one of its staff recently.

In a post on its Facebook page on Monday, NTUC Membership said it was alerted of this and will have a report on its investigations in due course.

It said this is a serious concern and will be addressed shortly.

It stressed that the labour movement centres on inclusivity and will not accept words or action of any of its staff that are insensitive or offending to any community.

NTUC said this in response to a Facebook post made by an assistant director in the membership department, Ms Amy Cheong - about weddings at void decks.

Ms Cheong later posted a comment, apologising for what she described as a "silly comment".

She said it was a "bad judgement" which she truly regretted and added it was in no way a reflection of NTUC and its work.

According to this report, her FB was about how many fcuking days do Malay weddings go on...

Well done, Lim Shit Say....

No wonder he left the organization.

Mr Ong Ye Kung has decided to step down from his post as deputy secretary- general of the National Trades Union Congress (NTUC) come November.
Announcing this in a Facebook post, Mr Ong added: "I look forward to embarking on a new challenge and to step up to a new learning curve."
He said championing Singapore and the interests of working people will "always be close to my heart".

malay wedding normally 1-2 days but preparation start on thursday but actual wedding is saturday or sunday or even somethime both days. and malay wedding die die must have karaoke set so that loud out of tune music from morning to early evening. the only good thing everything end by sunday early evening when the caterer come to dismantle the barang barang.

Then compare to us chinese, can have funeral wakes that last a week with the "sai gong" chanting every nite. b4 the christians claimed none of their biz, the christians wake also only slightly better. always have a cleric "nian keng" for an hour with a mike then whole group sing hynms every now and then.

so before ppl write boliao comments on their FB or other websites, think what your own races practise first before shooting other races. HDB is public housing, just bear with it for a few days only. how would this ms cheong feel when other ppl complain when her family need to use the void deck.

This is nothing compared to the investigation that needs to be done on NTUC.

No one is making a big hooha in SBF about this, unlike all the noise on FB and Twitter. This is only a distraction, from the real issues at hand.

sinkie idiots dont realize that whatever they say on FB would come back to haunt them

also, sinkie idiots also do not see the difference whether the comment is made by an individual or an organization.

Everyone harbours some amount of racist thoughts, its normal. To make such comments privately to someone ok lah. But to post it on FB means she wants people to see. Then she had the nerve to say its her private FB and if not happy dont read. Epic idiot!

Tuan,

Agree. The real issue like the locking up of OUR hard-earned CPF money by extending the retirement/withdrawal age to 65 and probably 70.

Poor Ms Amy Cheong, assistant director in the membership department, she does not even know that NTUC is one political job, wonder who promotes her to Director level,I guess the big chief,Mr Lim Say say.

I expect ppl to politicise and NTUC to take over drastic measure to discipline Amy. She will never get a fair judgment. If she were a Malay and posting racist comment on Chinese I am cock sure she will get away with it.

It will be interesting to see whether this matter will be treated as yet another storm in the teacup and within a week it will be forgotten with Cheong remaining in her post.

Poor Amy is finished.....I think ntuc may adopt to kill one and not to offend many. This morning one of my malay friend told me that he was advised by his other malay friends to terminate their membership to protest.

she has a brain but too small to think this is a very serious racist remark :(

‎*JUST IN* NTUC has sacked staffer Amy Cheong

‎*JUST IN* NTUC has sacked staffer Amy Cheong after she posted racist comments on her FB page. NTUC says it "takes a serious view on racial harmony in Singapore. We will not accept and have zero tolerance towards any words used or actions taken by our staff that are racially offensive."

What do you think of NTUC's swift decision sack her?

I see no reason why she should be fired. Everyone's entitled to an opinion and she's spot on about Malay weddings.

Her remarks have nothing to do about race. It's all about the location and the format.

Even worse than Malay weddings are Chinese funerals and Drunk Indians. That's why the whole country is a cesspit. If Singapore was inhabited by Ang Mohs only, it would be a much more pleasant place.

Agree fully with you.. Sometimes its very very exasperating to see Sinkies slagging other Sinkies off..

The Common Enemies are the FT Pundeks from India, The Pinoys, The Ah Tiongs.. They are the ones that should be on the receiving ends of our whacking..!!!!

Why must we fight among ourselves..???? At the end of the day, its these fucktard FTs who'll be laughing at us Sinkies for not being united enough..
