Woman hurls 1kg slab of frozen beef at fellow stallholders in Tekka Market

STOMPer kelvin's family members were attacked at their stall in Tekka Market, not once, but twice, by a beef seller who threw a frozen slab of beef and eggs at them.

Said kelvin:

"There has been this ongoing dispute with this woman who runs the beef stall near my mother's egg stall in Tekka Market. From verbal abuse, it has now escalated into physical attacks. The dispute has been going on for a few years.

"Close to a month ago, she threatened my younger brother that she would kill him with a knife, so he started to film a video as evidence. Unhappy, she flung a 1kg frozen slab of beef from her stall at him. Imagine what would have happened if it had hit him, especially on his head. It was as hard as a rock.

"Just on Saturday afternoon (Sep 22), my parents were again attacked at their stall by the same beef seller. The woman took eggs from a neighbouring stall and threw them at my father. You can see the egg splatters on his shirt.

"The police came down and advised us to put pressure on the magistrate. They were not able to arrest her without a magistrate's order but they interviewed the other stallholders.

"We had previously seen the magistrate regarding the first attack but we were just told to tolerate this. We were also told the video was not concrete evidence. However the egg throwing incident was the result of tolerating...what if things escalated out of hand and she really used her knife to attack us?

"We will be installing a CCTV on my mother's stall following this."

Not able to arrest her without magistrate's order? Or not able to charge with magistrate's order. If police cannot make arrests, what are they doing there when there's a bank robbery? Issue threats? They however cannot charge a person until the AGC or magistrate court gives the go ahead.

There will be disagreement everywhere. You can debate or argue but the important thing here is not get violent and threaten to kill or hurt. If everyone can get violent and threaten to kill, then there will be no peace no matter how you want to tolerate. Same goes with religion, if every religion threaten to go violent and kill whenever there is disagreement, all hell break loose. Therefore, we should punish those who threaten with violence and threats.

back to the story & points of the law, out of curiosity, once she throws the beef at the egg sellers or anyone else, can they keep the beef? i guess if it's going to be a police case, they might have to keep it as evidence. And if the beef lady starts taking the eggs from the egg sellers stall & throw it at them, won't that be criminal damage or at least affray?
