I think there are many other factors which we really don't know. Post partum depression at 6 months is rather unlikely. Yes, some women change after delivery. I would think other social, economic, financial or maybe even marital problems are involved.
Can you imagine a young mother with a baby - taking care of the baby 24 hours/day everyday. It is nerve-racking. She maybe suffering from some form of depression or troubled by some stressful issues. All she needs is a trigger that will push her over. We don't know what is the trigger.
Sad case indeed. Very sad and very tragic. This is not the first and it will not be the last. Many young couples, with and without babies, are under tremendous stress. This is a very volatile situation.
We see young teens jumping to their deaths. We see adults. We see couples. We see mother and child/children too!!! We see the whole family - mother, child and the father !!! This is a social tragedy which the government must address urgently. We can not pretend to say that can't be help. Can't do anything.
One of the contributing factors is the easy availabilty of high rise flats and avenues to commit suicide. Jumping from a high rise flat is still the number one way of ending one's life. You can just walk along the corridor, have a quarrel with someone and the next thing the person can do is just climb over the wall and end his life!!! Easy availability!!! Just like shooting oneself in America or jumping from a bridge!!!
