China Yang Sun Is The Greatest Freestyle Swimmer I've Ever Seen In The Olympics!

Sun Yang is a fool. He swam 30 lengths of the pool to get one gold medal. Even jumped in twice.
My favourite swimmer in London 2012 Ranomi Kromowidjojo swam 3 lengths and got 2 gold medals.

Better the yanks than the PRCs..

Why are yanks always involved in such argument nowadays? When USSR was whole, no such problem. They always beat the yanks in the Olympics, whether counting medals or counting golds.

When it was just Russia versus USA, it was decided on both sides using different methods of counting. And when Russia became more capitalist and lost its edge in sport, it was USA vs China, back to different methods of counting. It seems that over time, defining new method of counting will not do. They have to question the validity of the golds (maybe also medals) themselves. You know what? I think they are in deep trouble.

Lol you say like this wait those PRC supporters accuse you of skewing the way of 'counting' against their beloved PRCs then you know!

Guys

You need to read widely. By now you should realise that it is a politically correct world and understand why his accomplishments are heralded by everyone including the west. His techniques are really good. He was always considered a major talent well before the olympics.

You got to read between the lines and understand euphemisms used in the press. Ang Mos will never talk straight and the Asians will break the world record in reticence.

Sports is highly lucrative but Olympics is highly political. So the latter is given a lot of leeway. Many of the Chinese sportmen and women can never ply their trade as they cannot hide behind the regime in the lucrative circuit.

Look at Gymnatics. You cannot make money unless you switch to ice skating or coaching. The sports is riddled with communist era state run programmes and the torture that they make the kids undgo is no longer appreciated. It can only exist in Olympics. The kids are selfted when they still have their pampers on. The parents are either nut cases or poor. The girls a injected with drugs to stop female hormones coming to the fore - ad no breast.

Look at Russia and East Germany, no longer power houses with gymnastics and state run progarmmes abolished. It is not much of sporting legacy.

The world will be behind the Mo Farah's , Jessica Ennis and company. These are sportsmen and sportwomen with transparent live hsitory, not hidden and it is an individual journey.

Sadly on the first weekend before the Olympics began, over a 100 were tasted positive for drugs and sent home from the olympic village in London. IOC takes gat pains to hide this for obvious reasons. They come from all over the world.

This is meant for those who can't tell the diffetence between Yang Sun's technique and laudable achivement and Ye Shiwen's change of biomechanicsl change in the last lap. Also meant for those who are behind the world by 10 years and are still looking for muscle bound for steroids abuse which went out of fashion long time ago.

All these are irrelevant shit. If you can prove the person doped, he is guilty, if not - he is clean.
To accuse Ye ShiWen of doping is like accusing Iraq of having weapon of mass destruction.
Ropp finished a whoping second ahead of the Ethipians and Kenyans in the 10000m, he is white, how can this be possible?? He must have doped.
You can criticise the communist regimes punishing ways of grooming talents for all you want, but whether one dopes is a separate issue all together.
Once again to all you RETARDS who lick angmo balls i say :oIo::oIo::oIo:

All this mention of communist regime depriving economic success of its athletes is pure misinfo and demonstrate the lingering fear
of the cold war era, which should have been long gone into historical oblivion, except for one who has been let out of prison after serving
lots of time there and out of contact with reality.

Just look at Li Ning. If he has been a product of the last 15 years of Chinese cruelty to its athletes and curtailing any commercial value of
its athletes successes, it did not happen, not with Li Ning. Not with Yao Ning, and not with many of its athletes, which will be taking the
capitalist route of endorsements and what not, what with the rising middle class and consumerism.

Ye Shiwen's swim strategy has been debated all over the web by scientists, fans, swimmers (Ian Thorpe), coaches, and others, like you or
me, and from my reading of the sentiments on the web, Ye Shiwen wins again, as officially she has not been found doping and John Leonard
and Claire Balding's outrageous comments have drawn more ridicule than support internationally, on twitter, facebook, sina weibo and blogs.

China rules.

Even this swim school in Brisbane, Australia, wants to claim success of Chinese swimmers. That's so pathetic, IMHO. LOL!

Brisbane school behind China's spectacular Olympic swimming success
Sydney, Sun, 05 Aug 2012ANI

Sydney, Aug.5 (ANI): A swimming school on the outskirts of Brisbane, not Beijing, is churning out champion Chinese swimmers.
The school owned by Aussie swim coach Ken Wood's Redcliffe City High Performance Centre is one of the secrets behind China's success at the London Olympics.
China has sent so many of its swimmers to Wood's Olympic production line, paying big money for the privilege, that the 82-year-old has lost count.
A dozen Chinese swimmers arrive at his centre at a time with their own doctor, physiotherapist, chef, masseuse and four coaches in a precision operation.

"I couldn't tell you, but it's a lot," news.com.au quoted Wood's as saying, adding: "I had 20 on the Olympic team - 15 individual swimmers and five in relays".

"The money is obviously no object to them. The Chinese Government wants to put China back as the No.1 swimming nation in the world," he added.
With gold medal bonuses of up to 2,50,000 dollars, Wood is set for a big windfall after China's impressive London performances.
Double gold medallist Ye Shiwen, the 16-year-old record-breaking sensation, is among the wave of foreign opponents who have trained here. But it's a controversial payday as Australian swimming descends into recriminations over the failure to win individual gold in the pool for the first time since 1976. Good... now can you slap the few morons in the forum who still swear by John Leonard's accusation?

That is why it is important to read widely. Galen Rupp when he won silver yesterday did not break his personal best. And his personal best was not done in his backyard. When JW was talking about a tactical race, he was not talking about army manoeuvres. I too was surprised by Rupp's achievement, so I read up.

The world is heading towards biological markers that must be recorded and attested for sportsmen and women at the start of the sporting career. Do read about it.

This is yet another flawed logic. You are basically saying if you have achieved a similar feat before, then you are not a suspect. I could argue the guy doped in all the past occasions. On the other hand you should at least give Ye ShiWen the benefit of doubt, if she cannot ever come close to what she achieved here, then you could start to have some suspicion. There is always a first time, before the first time becomes the person's norm. To jump to conclusion at the first instant of the person's supernormal achievement is simply bias.

Very true. All those crap from John Leonard and the likes are laced with half-facts and cloaked racism.

Consider this. At 14yrs old, Ye is only 1.6m and winning medals. At 16yrs old, she grew to 1.72m. Did John Leonard consider that in his ridiculous comparison of the 5s better performance difference in 2 yrs time, which he deemed impossible? Nope, he just spew utter shit, and still hasn't apologize to Ye yet. This guy is sadly a dud coach, I pity those swimmers trained by him.

Agree with you that the Olympics is highly political. That is why Jo Flo was not questioned for her unbelievable times but Ye Shiwen is. Neither was Serena questioned on her unbelievable annihilation of Sharapova with an extremely strong serve rivaling many men's. Marion Jones was not penalised until 7 years after the event, the country having enjoyed the adulation at the Sydney Olympics. This is also the reason why in some events some golds and the number of competitors per country have been reduced to re-balance the distribution of power.

I still cannot understand how to design a drug that only benefits the sportsman at only the last leg of a medley but not the first three legs. Anyway, why do it for one leg? Why not do it for all four? And if boosting performance by so much in one leg can give the game away, isn't it smarter to reduce the dosage and increase the performance on all four legs?

And nobody is asking why Chinese table tennis players are so good. Are they also on drugs? Just remember that there are practically one or more Chinese players in all the women teams except a handful of teams from the Far East. Can they all be on drugs?

It is a good story to talk about the individual journey of a sportsman but in the Olympics, politics take the front seat.

This is all bias lah. There is great fear regarding rise of China. If OIC says no drugs then it is good enough. Like this I can also say Phelps is being aided by top American scientists that are able to create undetectible drug and his medals will be invalidated in 8 years when we finally detect it. And since the detection machines are designed and made by US, scientist know exactly what can go undetected.

Many do not realise the advancement of training methods (like the special hyperbaric chamber that Phelps has), and diets.

By the way, Phelps sleeps in a special chamber in his apt that simulates env at 8000 ft. He got more $ so can build in his apt. Those without money have to go live in high altitude region for training away from family and friends or else how to compete with Phelps.

People should just realize that China has the $ and the vibrant economy itself lends itself to huge endorsement $. To put it to drugs is just not facing reality. GI used to think that Jap Imperial Army cannot shoot because they have small eyes - that was until they actually fought!

This is all bias lah.

Prejudice is blind.

Typical world view of self-hating Chink apologists:

Muscular American woman (Beisel): good genes plus hard work
Muscular Chinese woman (Liu Zige): drugs

Slim American woman (Missy Franklin): see, wholesome middle Americans don't do drugs
Slim Chinese woman (Ye Shiwen): drugs (not steroids, you goodus, but hi-tech undetectable drugs that only Chinese scientists are brilliant enough to invent) - how else can a slim 1.72m girl break the world record?

Most bemedalled American (Phelps): genius, hard work (never mind that his coach says that he is a 'lazy' swimmer who smokes pot)
Most bemedalled Chinese (Wu Minxia): state-sanctioned torture and child abuse

Multi-millionaire American basketball dream team: money and fame motivates great athletes, ergo capitalism good
Pauper Chinese table tennis dream team: patriotism and nationalism churns out robots, ergo communism bad

Marion Jones on drugs? - hey, innocent until proven otherwise (never failed a single drugs test)
Ye Shiwen clean? - hey, guilty until proven otherwise (never failed a single drugs test)

1 Chinese swimming gold in 2008 Olympics: told you, the Chinese were doing drugs in the '90s, can't replicate it now
5 Chinese swimming gold in 2012 Olympics: see, they're taking drugs again

8 gold and 7 world records by ONE US swimmer in 2008: eat your hearts out, a swimming GOD!
16 US swimming gold in 2012 Olympics, more than the rest combined: damn your insinuations, told you people in the free world don't do drugs

Sometimes when we point our finger at the racists out there, we forget that three fingers point back to the internalized racists among us.

Nothing to do with race or envy. They have a track record as long as your arm. All the communist bloc countries have done it. They don't call them medal factories for nothing. It is to show to their own people how superior their ideology and it is a winning ideology. Imagine the audacity of intentionally losing a game in front of a world audience in this day and age. When it comes to fakes, no one wins the race hands down like them. Look at HK. No State programme and they produced a gold medal and Lee Sw Wei got them a bronze as well. Same country two ideologies.

Questions will always be asked until they can prove to themselves that they are ready to play ball.

It does not mean that drug cheats come solely come from communist countries. The US and continental Europe started it but it is not state sposored. Continental Europe and OZ are countries where there is little solve from parent sporting bodies to stop it. They keep covering it up when individuals do it.

40 cases from a state run programme is not a blip. Human growth hormones in a Thermos flask enough a for a team at the start of an olympics is an an apparition. It was in a swimmer's personal baggage.

To longbow, yellowarse aren't you afraid of being chastised by others?

Here you all better wear these if not you would be called chinese chauvinists aka racists. Don't worry i will fix it for both of you.

*hands both of them white man's butt skin* As long as you wear it on your faces you will look similar to the rest of them so that they won't chastise you anymore.

Nothing to do with race or envy. They have a track record as long as your arm. All the communist bloc countries have done it.

The East Germans used to do it in the '70s and '80s. Do we still point the finger at Germans today?

All the Soviet republics and Russia did it until the Berlin Wall fell. Do we still point our finger at Russia, Lithuania, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, etc today?

China was caught with more than 40 cases in the '90s (in the wake of the women's incredible showing in '92 Olympics) before cracking down on the problem. Since then, over the past decade, on a per capita basis, fewer Chinese athletes have been caught with a positive drug test than the Americans. So why is the finger still pointing at them, when the former Soviet bloc countries are no longer under suspicion?

Questions will always be asked until they can prove to themselves that they are ready to play ball.

By some accounts after the shaming of the Chinese women swimmers in the '90s, the Chinese athletes were tested far more often than their counterparts in the West, with blood and urine samples ratified by IOC-sanctioned labs, both within and without the nation.

What else do you want them to do?

Unless playing ball means more than just sports and drugs: it is to ditch communism and become a liberal Western-style democracy under the aegis of the leader of the 'free' world - the US of A. Which is to say: a communist will always be a cheat, a capitalist will always be clean. (Never mind that China is perhaps the most capitalist country in the world, notwithstanding its authoritarian rule.)

40 cases from a state run programme is not a blip.

You neglect to mention that the 40 cases were from the '90s, almost 20 years ago. That was when the Chinese govt started cracking down on drugs big time in a bid to host the 2000 Olympics (lost it to Sydney). To quote Dr Chen Zhanghao, who admitted his role in Chinese doping in the '80s and '90s:

'Dr Chen, who has admitted his own role in doping athletes before China cracked down on the practice in the 1990s, said: "Once caught, the athlete, coach and sometimes team manager are dismissed."'
It does not mean that drug cheats come solely come from communist countries. The US and continental Europe started it but it is not state sposored.

The only thing that made sense in the entire passage.

All countries cheat. The sporting powers cheat even more.

Difference is: Drugs in the West are the domain of individual coaches, team doctors and parents putting pressure on the coaching team. Drugs in the ex-Soviet bloc and China in the '80s and 90s (after kai fang) were state-sponsored.

Where it comes to covering up, there's no difference. Both East and West do it - all the time. There was ample evidence that positive American urine samples at the LA Olympics were swept under the carpet in a huge government-condoned cover-up. Yes, including that of the great Carl Lewis. But no one dared raise a bleep.

Plus Western athletes have recourse to the courts (not available to communist state athletes) to overturn rulings, often on ridiculous technicalities. That's what Armstrong is doing now, and a host of athletes before him.

Just go google and you will find that Serena Williams was on dope, or how else she can serve harder and faster than a man and beat Maria Sharapova in straight sets.

Was told she ran to the panic room and called 911 to avoid the surprise dope check. Until now, was told she avoided the dope test.

Just go google and you'll find the truth about Serena Williams, and most possibly her sister Venus.

On the other hand, you'll find that Ye Shiwen has plenty of support and John Leonard and company have got themselves totally ass-fucked on this subject matter. LOL!!
