Methinks the entry qualifications for the Presidential seat is set too high. It should be downgraded to accept more qualified professional people or heartlanders to enter into the Presidential election. We need people who really have passion for the job, but not just to act as an interim administrator. There should be more competition in the Presidential elections.
Basically, what I see the function of the President, he should not be required to have experience running a $100 million company. Because the role of the President, I haven't seen the role of the President who is exercising his rights as a $100 million company CEO with regards to our national reserves.
1. Surprise audits into our reserves - Not Done.
2. Call an independent board of enquiry to Investigate into the irregularities of the Temasek and GIC losses. - Not Done.
2. Kissing Babies - Done.
3. Attending functions - Done.
4. Stand in front of Parade Grounds during National Day - Done.
So from the above, job description a CEO of a $100 million company is not really necessary for the job of the President.
What say you?
