You guys have over-estimated Tin Pei Ling.
Thanking Ms Tin for speaking out and for finding courage and wisdom to speak in Parliament for the people? You must be joking. You think Ms Tin is so smart?
Everything is orchestrated. It has always been the case. PAP will let some small minion MPs to speak first so as to test water. In this case, PAP bigwigs dare not offend the businessmen, especially the big MNCs. But on the other hand, they are under pressure from Singaporeans to do something about immigration and they know that at the end of the day, it’s going to be the votes that count.
So, they are now orchestrating this wayang show. They get expendables like Tin Pei Ling to start telling businessmen to stop using FTs. Soon, you will see more MPs joining in with the official media also weighing in. This will go on for the next 1-2 months. Finally the big boss, LHL, will come out and say something and announce some new policy to further tighten immigrations.
Not that I disapprove of it but C’mon, be a man. If you think this is the right thing to do, let the big boss come out and face the businessmen to tell it to their face. No need to use expendables to test water.
You see, if they suddenly face with a lot of pressures from MNCs, big bosses will just keep quiet. At most, businessmen will only scold Tin Pei Ling. Big boss’ reputation still intact. This kind of wayang has been going on in Singapore for as long as I can remember.

she needs to change her public appearance, otherwise she won't gain any respects from us. she might have the brain, but so what.

generally people look up for their leaders with credible attributes which unfortunately she doesnt have that attribute. perhaps more grooming is required to change her appearance

Tin Tin was smart... in spreading her legs for the right man, establishing important connections which led her into the PAP.

Had it not been for that, she wouldn't have backdoored her way into a GRC, especially into one of the 'safer' GRCs.
