Was driving along coastal highway and exit hh ,under e bridge saw police car and few policeman .... In my heart was thinking, jialet i was speeding happily coz not much cars ..... They waved me down and peek into my car and asked me go ..... Wow , impressed , now they hv patrol cars on duty in day time?? Hopefully will improve e security issues.

I do get worried when stepping on the accelerator there. The limit is 70kmj, right?

It may be a matter of time before they start nabbing drivers along that stretch.

After seeing what leisure farm offers, one really know HH with bare units are not the best deals at all..
however HH has a good location and one can change anything he wants by having a good renovation.

As I am typing this , I saw the guard petrol the perimeters almost every 15min at this time.. Security is one of the main point for HH or leisure farm.. If there is any breakin, ha.. there goes Nusajaya..

We need to admit that not every place can be like Fort Knox. Just need to be on our guard all the time.

Recently, a certain housing estate in Singapore came out in the news that they have installed CCTVs at a number of multi-storey car parks to combat the possibility of crime.

Since the installation, 2 incidents of theft from cars were committed in two separate car parks. (I knew because the police displayed boards requesting for witnesses).

But before that, there wasn't much crime being committed there.

Talk about irony!

Extremely disappointed with the judiciary system in Singapore. A dumb ass will know who is finding trouble but the dumbass Singapore Judge and the AGC can charge the innocent in court . What is indeed happening to Singapore?

You need to get used to this.

Please refer to this blog: http://rachelzeng.wordpress.com/2012/06/22/can-an-innocent-be-sent-to-the-gallows-in-singapore/

An innocent person can be hanged because of procedure?

This was a case which involved Vignes Mourthy who was hung for drug trafficking charges.

During his appeal which was struck down, lawyer M Ravi who was engaged to represent Mourthi in his appeal against his sentence, asked the then Chief Justice Yong Pung How if the public prosecutor was “still maintaining that an innocent man be hanged because of procedure”, the CJ answered “Yes, the answer is yes” (TodayOnline, archived by Think Centre, 27 Sept 2003).

Frightening isn't it?

I wish to highlight this point...

Once, before we bought our house in JB, friends and relative was against it.. One of the reasons they claimed was their friend bought a property in my development n after 10 years still have no title deeds. THIS IS NOT TRUE, as I have obtained my title deeds less than a year n my mum is about to get hers soon

Hi guys, I am very new to this forum. Chanced upon this forum while googling on living in jb. I'm a single mother to a coming 3 yr old toddler and I have intentions to move to jb as the living costs there is cheaper. I'm working in Kaki Bukit area and I don't drive. I'd like to rent a place to try it out to see if it will work. Any advice?

That's right, speed limit is 70kmh along the Coastal Highway which is ridiculous.

Hmm, I think I better start watching my speed when I travel there as well...tend to go way faster than even 110kmh due to the emptiness.

I believe this is just a normal inspection checkpoint. Typically targeted not at SG cars but on JB motorcyclists and heavily modified Protons. They are not there to check vehicle speed as you have mentioned.

btw , my pt is not abt speeding , its the policeman are checking on cars that are going to HH etc directions ....

Good to hear that you are conisdering JB. But can't help but wonder about your plans for your little one? Planning to send to a creche or childcare in JB?

If you don't drive, what are your plans to commute? Thinking of the CW buses?

Do take a look at the previous postings and get a good feel of the discussions.

Good luck!

I'm considering letting my little one stay in her current childcare in Sg which is near my mom's place so that my mom's maid can help to pick her up and give her dinner before I go pick her up to head back to JB and yes, I plan to commute daily by bus. As my daughter's father has been defaulting on his maintenance and I only make $2k a month, it's really hard for me to survive in Sg. What I worry most is safety as my moving to jb means I will be all alone with my daughter.
