Liem Sioe Liong

The Singapore home of the late Liem Sioe Liong (pictured), one of Indonesia’s richest men, is valued at approximately S$100 million, according to a report in Indonesia’s TEMPO Interactive.
The 96-year old Indonesian tycoon passed away in Singapore on June 10 from age-related illnesses.
Liem had been living at the house since 1998 after moving to Singapore in the wake of anti-Chinese riots that hit Indonesia.
Located in Katong, the property sits on a massive 86,000 sq ft site and was purchased in 1970 for around S$1 million to S$3 million, according to a relative who spoke to TEMPO but declined to be named.
The article added that “Only truly wealthy people can afford to buy a house on that site”.
The China-born Liem was involved in a number of lucrative businesses, including banking, foods, cement, television, property, automotive and retail, amongst others.

FYI, this guy is related to Dr M as his son married Lim's singapore mistress daughter. Divorce already.

Where would Singapore be without Indonesian money? :D

His meteoric rise was during the time of Sukarno

Then came his links with the dictator Suharto

He amassed billions of dollars

And distributed miserable Super-mie to poor fellows.

When Suharto regime came to an end

All the way to Singapore he ran.

Carrying all the wealth that he can

Goodbye Liem Sioe Liong

Your rich friends will miss you forever long.

no la, you should ask where Indonesia would be without Singapore money, remember, one Singaporean offered to loan Indonesia some cash when the latter was in financial crisis

I'm a regular ' patroller ' at Katong area.. I know Katong area is infested with these rich FTs.. There's one very big house belonging to an Indian family just in front of St Patricks School.. Don't think it belongs to a local Mama..

Liew Mun Leong should enbloc this site and turn it into 2000 shoeboxes

Dunno, just have this feeling.
To say that "wah, got so rich Indonesian buy house in SG", or to claim "how humble her family is compared to the Liems", something like that.
That "woman" writes like she hasn't left her house in decades.

Ah Liew retiring next year liao, probably not enough time.
Shoebox units are not humane, will be one of his legacies.
Wonder if he realises the irony of his statement.

According to the man, as long as the shoeboxes are more than 501 sq feet, they are not inhumane

Btw, he was taking aim at Wing Tai

Yeah, but why are they being built and in demand?
Could he and his company be partly the cause?
Sometimes I wonder whether these people are ab or fb....................
