SINGAPORE: One lucky pooch in Singapore was given special treatment by renowned dog behavioural expert, Cesar Millan when he was in town recently.
In the first-ever contest in Singapore, dog owners were given the opportunity to present their pets' problems to the man.
Its name may be Tiny but it has proven to be a big headache for its owners.
From snapping and snarling at visitors to even biting them.
The Seko's 7-year-old Maltese certainly doesn't play well with others.
Yoko Seko said: "I have more than 10 guests that were bitten by him. He drew blood from one of them. Some of them even have scars on their faces now. We had a trainer but there was this one time where he complained that he came back scarred."
Resigned to Tiny's aggressive behaviour and a lack of funds, the family stopped his obedience training.
But hope came in the form of renowned dog expert Cesar Millan.
As avid viewers of his show "Dog Whisperer" with Cesar Millan, the family submitted a video depicting Tiny's problems.
They were picked out of 26 entries.
The celebrity dog trainer paid a visit to their Clementi flat as part of his maiden trip to Singapore.
While he was given a big welcome by fans in the area, the response was less than warm at the Sekos'.
After deftly handling the dog, Millan spent the afternoon sharing tips and tools with the family.
Millan said: "So it's easier with a leash to snap him out of it. So once you snap him out of it, you drop the leash."
After three hours with Millan, Tiny was decidedly more subdued.
A much calmer Tiny mingled with dogs and humans alike - something he's never done before.
But it wasn't just the pooch that received a lesson.
Aiko Seko said: "Cesar said that it's actually our fault that he's like that. That we are the ones that are frantic that's why we are giving him that frantic aura. So we have to be more calm, then he can be more calm."
After ensuring that the Maltese is in good hands, the dog behavioral expert had to rush off to help another pooch in distress.
But not before a few departing words.
"It's always awesome helping a dog. I'm very amazed that I get to come all the way to Singapore to help somebody. I hope they keep me posted with rehabilitation. Sorry guys, love you! Bye!"
