ASUS Laptop - Worth Buying ?.......Where Good Place To Buy At Good Price ?

I wasn't around when BurgerNo64 came back. What was his explanation ah?

1. First, you got to specify what you need it for: eg web browsing, watch movie, gaming etc....
2. What is your min and max budget
3. Is portability important for you? (do you bring it out often, or u only use it at home)
4. Good place to buy? If you are not comfortable dealing shops in Funan or SLS, then stick to Courts, Harvey Norman or Challenger. Best avoid Audiohouse and Gain City.
5. Shoud you wait for IT show? Answer: Can you wait, if can, then wait for Comex (Sep).
6. If you are window user, avoid mac at all cost. No need to argue with apple fanboy here, just take a look at the number of ppl wanting to sell their macbook pro in HWZ and VRForum, and you get the idea. Mac products got lots of hidden cost....

Tip: if u are adventurous enough, go buy in JB, some brands/models are so much cheaper that it is worth the hassle to cross the causeway...;)

Whatever you decide to get a PC or Mac, buying from Malaysia is cheaper than in Spore & that's what I have always recommended.

I'm waiting for Apple to introduce their new Macbook Pro line rumoured to be relased in June. I've got plenty of Mac experience & I prefer that platform as you have the flexibility of running Windows & Mac OS. Some may have the mistaken perception that that there is an Apple tax, but the fact is that Apple is very competitive when you compare the features & design. Only have to look at how popular their computers are:)

People might be selling their Apple hardware but has anyone asked why:confused: Could it be that they are more knowledgeable & know that the newer models are coming:confused: If you got to Sim Lim, you'll see that there are a number of dedicated 2nd hand shops dealing in used Apple HW. The value of used Mac HW is higher but depreciates when new models are introduced. So for some it means more $$ when they sell & upgrade sooner than later.

A Mac is like any other computer, the only added costs are for software & maybe a RAM upgrade. Other than that I would seriously consider getting the Apple care extended which will provided an extra 2 years of warrenty unless of course you intend to sell it.
