The upgrading of flats, MRT station where trains don't stop quite legendary (very creative). But I don't think PAP will/can use these tactics in future. The electorate is very different today. Using fear to rule in today's political environment and climate is foolish and suicidal.

Some of them resort to speculating and naming the personal identities of WP critics so as to threaten them and silence them. If WP were ever to form their so-called 'First World Government', they will be worse than PAP in using fear to silence critics.

Just look at the inexplicable venomous attack on GMS.....They are setting him as an example to be burnt upside down on the stake as a warning to others.

I do find some of the attacks against GMS quite extreme. But I wouldn't say they're inexplicable.

There're gems from GMS occasionally but most of the times, he allows his anti-WP agenda to hijack everything else. His choice of subject matters, his focus/emphasis and the manner in which he crafts his articles, allow people to perceive him as biased (anti-WP or anti-LTK), self-conceited, holier than thou, consistently inconsistent, hypocritical, forever in denial (neutral political observer? goodness me!) .........

Of course, I'd engaged him several times so you don't have to see this as an objective assessment. But I would say quite a number of forummers here would agree with many of the above.

I said this before. You're equally anti-WP but at least you've never denied it. And I like that. It's called Honesty. This is another quality GMS does not have.

Lastly, I really don't know if GMS is being burnt live as a warning to others. Politics is dirty so I don't expect WP people to be saints. Just like we don't expect PAP to be saints. But if GMS knows a little bit about decency, they couldn't put him on a stake, could they? If anything happens to GMS, he has contributed a lot to his own downfall.

PAP will not hesitate to use its bag of tricks against Singaporeans. Look at the HG by election. For LHL, instead of coming up and say ok by election will be held in 3 mths time,,he hume and haw like the guiniang he is and put the blame on WP for causing this by election. In a proper democracy, what is wrong with a by election? its only in singapore where it can be made an issue as the PAP has not held a by election for more than a decade. There were PAP GRC Mps that quit or died but no election,,for PAP fear will lose to opposition.

Now by Gay Loong refusal to hold the election is it not doing HG residence a disservice? He finally relented after the court cases etc to contain the damage.

Even till now PAP is still up to its tricks,,ok I admit the tricks they use now is more limited as compared to the past. But the damage they can do is very real. If they have a chance,,for example in the next election,,,,they get 65% of the vote, they will open the doors to FTs even more to displace Singaporeans,,and even allow PRs to vote..dont you think Singaporeans will be destroyed by than?

Ok look at LHL 'apology' last year..what has it achieved? We got a gahmen still letting in Foreigners by the plane loads,,and worse,,They now say we have to accept foreigners..what about the MRT and public tpt? they spent 1 billion on a private company to enrich themselves,,why dont they just nationalise the tpt companies and run it like in the past?

Ok now MRT break down,,have the PAP ordered SBS etc to compete with train lines? that way the MRT disruptions can be minimised with alternative tpt,,but PAP is just doing window dressing as they profit from such screw ups...SMRT earns more,,they profit more,,,And PAP can makes things worse by cutting services to HG,..and they will do it,,those scums in white have no shame and dignity...just like GMS...except GMS is not in power,,PAP is.

The electorate is same as it was 10 years ago,,how many voters have said must vote PAP if not kenna revenge? I mean PAP wont lock the individual up,,too much resources to divert unless you become a Chee Soon Juan,..

but PAP can deny you services,,like what they did in Hougang,..and they can still deny you services..
