There was a story of a man. The man was poor but after working hard for 40years, achieved some success. Later in his life, he found money came easy through dubious means and scheming without him having to work hard anymore. He enjoyed the new found wealth and was blinded that he achieved them through questionable means. He neglected his wife and children and becoming drunk with vices, making ill gained money and devising questionable schemes to make more money. He didnt have to work hard anymore as he resorted to running gambling dens, prostitution, using slavery methods to get workers to run his business. Those prostitutes he endears, he invited them to be his mistresses. He was drunk with lust and lost his sense of love and compassion. Soon, he lost his love for his wife and children and totally neglected them and treated them badly and focused his life on money, prostitution, gambling and other vices. His wife and children were sad but, as they were rejected and not cared for, had to leave home to work hard for a living. After 20years, the man was old and had bad health, lost his wealth in gambling and extravagant living and squandering. He was broke and his mistresses left him. His prized workers were offered better terms and left to work for other bosses. The man was lost and became a vagrant.

The story is like the pap. The pap worked hard for 40years and achieved some success. But the new pap leaders cant handle success. The new pap found that it could make easy money by squeezing its citizens through all kinds of levies, hidden taxes, COEs, ERPs, ARFs, petrol taxes, etc..money came easy and was good..the pap got itself used to easy money..to make more money, it resorted to casinos, gambling, exploiting cheap foreign workers and exploited the workers by paying them slave rates. More money was made and the pap thought that it hit on an instant success formula (the pap wonders why other countries are so stupid not to know this formula!) . Because of such ill gotten wealth, the pap lost its love, compassion for its citizens and began to treat them badly...calling them daft, stupid, slow, expensive, lesser mortals, and comparing them to 3rd world workers. The citizens were heart broken and tried to reason with the pap. But the pap said that it is deaf to criticisms..the pap also invited 3rd world migrants to replace its citizens causing much heart ache to the citizens. Heart broken, many of its citizens left the country.

Will the pap end up like the man in the story in 20years time? Can Singapore survive the mismangement of the pap and is still a country in 2032?

wrong analogy, not a marriage relationship but a master/servant relationship :p:p:p
see my reply in your "crumbling of Singapore?" thread :D:D:D

y muz it b a story of a man? ... u cant write it as a story of a woman n make n analogy? ...

The above line would have to be changed to "Those gigolos she endears, she invites them to be her masters."
Wouldn't sound right.

Anyone can be like the man if he will not change his attitude or the form of his government. But the question is how to change it if we don't have the authority to change the pap. Maybe many people decide to left the country just to make sure their future will be good for the coming years , everyone has a choose.
