Around 30 men are expected to appear in court on Monday for their alleged involvement with an online vice ring that is suspected to have employed an underage girl.

They include a naval officer, a managing director, businessmen, finance industry professionals and an Indonesian entrepreneur.

They range in age from their 20s to 50s, and comprise both married men and bachelors.

Veteran criminal lawyer Subhas Anandan, who is representing 13 men, said most of his clients had to report to the Police Headquarters in Cantonment Road on Saturday and were served charges then. All are from the private sector.

How many had their passports seized and then returned to facilitate their absconding? LOL

Fancy the PAP govt to get upset about vice when two casinos are already up and running.

Also, it is absurd that Singapore imposes it's law regarding the legal age of consent onto another country (in this case, Vietnam).

Such activities are considered illegal only when Gahment cannot earn$ from it... There are so many "night clubs" around, they pay entertainment licensing to run their operations.

SINGAPORE: Forty-four men were charged Monday for their alleged involvement in an online vice ring suspected to have employed an underage girl.

Among them is a former principal of Pei Chun Public School, Lee Lip Hong.

Lee, 39, has said he will plead guilty to the two charges he faces.

Others include a naval officer, a managing director, businessmen, finance industry professionals and an Indonesian entrepreneur.

The suspects comprise both married men and bachelors.

The men are accused of obtaining sexual services from a girl or girls under 18, sometime between September 2010 and March 2011.

It is not known if it is the same girl or that there were different girls involved.

Lawyer Subhas Anandan said the charges should state clearly the name and age of the girls involved so that his clients are fully aware of what they are accused of.

Mr Subhas will be asking for the details to be included.

Court documents said the men sought the services through Tang Boon Thiew, understood to be the ring leader.

The documents also showed that the men paid S$450 to S$850 for the sexual services.
