One thing I don't understand is why the local elderly workers in fast food chains are reporting to the FT, usually pinoy manager.
From my observation, the local elderly workers get the orders right, are usually polite and obliging, speak fairly good english and by and large, seem competent in their job. I'm quite sure they can address any customer issues, lock up the place or report any issues to head office just as well.

Quite sure that these pinoys are not holding accounting or law degrees which require them to do the accounts of the outlet or defend the outlet if they face litigation.

Due to the high turnover rate of nurses, new foreign nurses are being recruited yearly.....

The cause or reason is in the article : Local nurses refuse to address patients "Sir" or "Mum'.

After probation 6 months later, they prefer to sit at home to be called "sir" or "mum" by their Pinoy or Indon maid. Pinoy nurses are on contract for 2 or 3 years and risk paying penalty if break contracts. Pinoy nurses or specialists in polyclinics and hospitals address patients as "sir" or "mum" - not "Ang-ker" or "Ang-tee".
