Not bad liow, at least some direction to stop further speculation in sala direction, i.e. SMRT CEO to-be, one of the 60 chicken kings to be charged lah, candidate for Hougang BE lah..., etc. One thing for sure, at least he is not old man's blue-eyed boy.

No, if he is planned for CEO at SMRT, or PAP candidate for Hougang, etc. his leaving of MINDEF would have been much smoother and the transition much easier. Not like this very abrupt way.

If he had problems with NDP, than why take the post? If he had a problem with NDP, than resign from NDP, but keep his Col. position and stay in the SAF.

Anyway, they also go around with a parachute..

Like most people who resigned, he could have greener pastures elsewhere.
The most obvious reason is the most likely one.

U only get a parachute when u do as the PAP masters do. They ask u to run the NDP and all of a sudden without any warning, u suka suka quit. Their wrath will be great against you.

Looking at this from another POV, the big shots attenadance might be to give the incoming chief face and not the other way round.
