An event to be held this Saturday at Chijmes has caused outrage within the Catholic community here, with Archbishop Nicholas Chia calling for its cancellation.
Some Catholics are upset that the Escape Chapel Party is to be held in a former chapel and that it is being held this Saturday, which is also Holy Saturday, an important day in the Catholic calendar.
They are also up in arms over two images that have become associated with the event. One is of a woman in a lacy dress and a habit, and the other is a photograph showing two girls wearing habits and short dresses.
