The Ministry of Education (MOE) has put up an advertisement in local papers offering ASEAN Scholarships to Malaysian students in secondary schools and junior colleges in Singapore:

http://temasektimes.files.wordpress....holarships.jpg

The scholars will be exempted from paying school and examination fees and will be given a generous annual allowance of between S$2,200 and S$2,400. There is also no bond attached to the scholarship.

The closing date is 2 April 2012, but take note that Singaporeans are not eligible to apply and they are expected to foot their school fees and living allowances in full on their own after which the males have to serve two years of National Service to protect these scholars and of course other ‘foreign talents’ living in Singapore.

You know how to read or not - it's ASEAN scholarship - meant for members of ASEAN excluding the host. Singapore very special got own scholarships eg President scholarship, SAF Scholarshop, SCDF Scholarshop, Overseas Merit Scholarships, DBS Scholarship - so many.

In addition, Singapore students are given Edusave awards, Good Progress Awards, EAGLE Awards, etc etc. Students from low middle (relatively) are given bursary to buy books, uniform, coupons for breakfast - even money to go on overseas "fieldtrips". What's 2 years when you get 12 years of gain in education alone! Later comes with subsidised housing, housing grants, baby bonus, Good Growth Package, Budget Specials, etc

Singapore must be like a heaven to many of our poorer neighbouring countries. Like what the Ah Neh from Bangladesh exclaimed to their rural folks : "You press some numbers on the wall, and the money pops out."

When you choose MALE toilet, you are excluded from going into the FEMALE toilet.

.....

If you take a look at the scholarships like President. SAF..... scholarships there is some kind of string attached. Sporeans who break their bonds face a financial penalty.

PAP like to boast that Spore is run like some kind of MNC. So how are they going to ensure that once these people in ASEAN acquire an education they don't balek kamplong or go off to another 1st world country

Dunno, never try.
If difficult to get, try getting other country citizenship, live JB, work SG.
As FT in SG, maybe easier to get job. :D

Don't need to be a Malaysian to enjoy a higher standard of living if you live in JB. You'll enjoy cheaper costs & as a male you can relax during the weekends because your not liable for recall exercices
