You hired a CPA but she can't work ?

A company (MNC or SME) hired a CPA (Certified Public Accountant) of S'pore but to find that she is technically weak in many accounting aspects & no drive to work hard.

How will you deal with such employee ? She is highly qualified

2 ways
1 = short way
2 = long way

1. short way
terminate her.
but the co will have to pay the 1mth according to contract.

2. long way
make life unbearable for her.
since the staff already ostracize her, let them go one step further by openly criticising her right in front of her, dirty her stuff, mess up her table, etc.
BUT i think reducing her workload will not work, because she is already an incompetent - and incompetents will be even happier when there's less to do.
once she can't take it anymore, she will resign.
co saves on the 1mth payment.

In Singapore..there are many so-called qualified professionals with CPA or CFA titles drawing high salaries but in reality many of these people can't work.

Certification from ICPAS cannot prove individual capabilities in workplaces

Just find cause for termination.
Give her a task with reasonable complexity for her qualification and $$$. Make her fully accountable for it, no excuses from her.

If she fails ---> just cause (assuming she's on probation)
If she passes ---> maybe she found her drive?

She is from SIM, RMIT BBA (Accountancy) then apply & appeal to ICPAS for that stupid 5 modules (CPA)

the cost accounting concept & system used in this company

She took 3 weeks to close last month financial statements (GL) resulted her capability been questioned

MFGPro system .. also with transfer pricing system.

She had 4 female staffs reporting to her & before she left 3 of them fallen out with her.

Actually when you get a Grad from NTU or NUS , are they certfiied public accountant once they graduate ? If not then i think they must also go through CPA before being counted as CERTIFIED PUBLIC ACCOUNTANT !
