WTF... inhumane SMRT compensate $5000 to Thai girl who lost both legs !!!!!

Come to think about it, AssMrt could have put up the barricades la.

==
actually this can be a debating point - whether SMRT has done all that it could to protect the safety of the commuters. It will be drawn out debate for and against in court and interesting to see the judgement.

if the judge says, yes SMRT must have installed barricades - then hor say liao, all those who have jumped tracks, their next-of-kin can sue SMRT liao.

But if judge says, no...its not - then the question is, why is SMRT now installing platform doors?

if all MRT installed barricades ..then all your MRT fare got excuses to go up ..;)

let's paint another scenario... you invited guest n guest fell over ur balcony because she had a dizzy spell. but guess what, ur balcony has no railings.. pray tell.. who is at fault now?

It's not about being humane. The issue is all about legal liability. Unless SMRT contributed to the cause of the accident, there is no reason why they should pay any form of compensation.

If someone visited your home and fell off your balcony as a result of a "dizzy spell", how much money would you offer as compensation?

im a newbie. dont know if my previous post goes thru. anywayz here's my two cents..

yup, someone visited your home and fell off your balcony as a result of a dizzy spell. oops, ur balcony has no railings.. guess how much you hv to compensate???
