The "Ballon d'Or", literally translated as "the golden ball" and often referred to as the European Footballer of the Year award, was an annual association football award. It was presented to the player who had been considered to have performed the best over the previous calendar year.

Can you find Rooney here??? No you can't.:biggrin::biggrin:

Scoring goals? Sure every club has their own top scorers when on form but what dribbling skills does Rooney has and how many defenders can he sneak past?

All sorts of accolades have been showered on Wayne Rooney - he was called a "complete player" by Johan Cruyff, and the best player England has ever produced by Benfica coach Jorge Jesus.
But the "White Pele"?
Rooney has been known by this nickname by sections of his enormous fan base for some time now, and they even came up with a song for it, but the biggest endorsement came from United manager Sir Alex Ferguson yesterday.
In reference to the Brazilian legend whom many regard as the greatest footballer ever to play the game, Fergie said: "If you look at Pele for instance, he was a very aggressive attacker who could look after himself, so can Rooney."

Exactly. This thread is in response to that shameless, biased, asshole Gary Lim.

"How disgusting to associate me with that ugly, uncouth thug! He is nowhere close!
The persons closest and deserving would have to be Lionel Messi, C.Ronaldo, Ronaldinho
and the future superstar Neymar who played in the same club as me that is Santos FC."

I remember years ago, reporters asked Peter Crouch a standard football player question: "what would you be if you're not a footballer?"

His answer was classic: "A virgin."
