Switzerland improved from that thrashing from France and went on to play to a stalemate with Argentina. Germany on the other hand waste two chances under never-aim-just-whack Andre Schurrle but their defense and GK kept France out. And Benzema flops on the big stage.

Notice also that since the knockout stages, no upsets at all in terms of who advance to the next stage. All the favourites managed to advance. Only disappointment is that many draws in the knockout stage which led to punters who bet on favourite to lose money ....
