Goh Mui Peng, 49, allegedly lost control of her car at the carpark of Block 221 Yishun Street 21 last December, causing it to reverse over the road kerb at the end of a parking lot and hitting Mr Muhammad Anis Kamsani 26. She is also said to have caused hurt to Mr Anis' fiancee, assistant nurse Nurliah Sulaiman, 23, by doing a negligent act to endanger life at about 11.30pm on Dec 6. The couple were then chit-chatting on the bench facing the sepak takraw court located below a slope outside her block. Mr Anis, a furniture mover and was also assisting his parents in a food stall, was dragged for about 5m and pinned under the car. Ms Nurliah suffered injuries to her face and hands and was on medical leave for a month. A pre-trial conference date has been set for Oct 12. Goh, who is out on bail, can be jailed for up to two years or fined, or both, if found guilty of causing death by doing a negligent act. If convicted of causing hurt by doing a negligent act, she can be jailed for up to six months and/or fined up to $500.
