really hope this OPPORTUNIST loses his deposit...also hope this will shut him up for good...i mean TKL's last spin of the dice was to plead for ntuc income holders to vote for him...sheesh...
Never seen A more poorly conducted campaign than this. Strategy, tactics, common sense etc all went out the window. Really an imbecile. Pension, NS pay, voice of the people, high five, donate salary to charity, fighting with TOC, does not want to run a town council argument, casino, claiming to be independent despite being the long serving PAP cadre member amongst all candidates. If this guy stood for a Residents' Association he would be politely brought aside and told not to.

The funny thing with the donate salary to charity part is, as with many other things, he has been very wishy washy about the amount. It actually hurts his credibility more than help him.
At one point, he gave a specific figure that he will retain and will donate the rest. At another point, he told the public he would donate 70% to 90%. Then nearer the elections, he finalised the amount to be 50%.

Sounds like a text-book case of how not to run a campaign. TKL lacks political acumen. Many voters who at first saw him as a viable alternative to TJS soon realised that TKL was a dud who, when push comes to shove, makes highly unrealistic and highly incredible proposals such as pensions for senior citizens and market rate pay for NSF. It is a toss up whether TKL will lose his deposit but his detractors are legion.
TKL I'm sure never did NS. At his age, he should have been among the first batches but somehow he escaped. Otherwise, he'd have known as a rule of thumb that NS pay cannot be market pay. Otherwise, who'd want to sign on as regulars and pledge 6 years of their prime instead of 2? If NS pay is made market pay, regular pay would have skyrocketed to astroscale. He dares not suggest abolishing NS. He should stay away from the topic.

This clown twice at press conferences made the point that the deposit is his own money and he was very careful about stating that. Presumably to indicate that when it is returned it goes straight back to his pocket and not part of the donations that he received. Well, he he does not have to worry too much about it.
The jury is out if he is opportunistic, dumb or both. The humane thing to do is to put a bullet to his head. I gave him a pasting at the start of PE when he tried make the claim that he was independent of PAP. He was a founding PAP cadre members, chair of CCC and MCC.

It'd like the serial rapist claiming that his last rape was 10 years ago while a recent rapist with one incident and one victim is more culpable.

Some lessons in life are costly to learn, TT and TKL may learn the same one tonight not at the loss of their deposit but a wipeout of their popularity and credibility. I would pity TT most of all instead of TKL, everything in his life has been served on a silver platter to him and at the not-so-tender age of 71, he has now learn that all may not be what it seems. Tough luck and tougher love from Singaporeans
Actually i meant his campaign message that he would donate 50% of the presidential salary. Earlier one he said 70%-90%, and then adjusted down to just 50%. it is embarassing because it highlights that hestill wants multimillon salary and the donation is painful to him.
