Eight fresh faces have been selected to compete to become the next Miss Universe Singapore.

Aged 18 to 24, these young women will compete for the crown next month in a live-streamed pageant to be held alongside an online fashion show. The winner will go home with a diamond-encrusted crown said to be worth nearly S$100,000 (US$74,000), a slew of prizes, and the chance to represent Singapore at the Miss Universe pageant later this year in Israel.

“We are proud to present eight confident and captivating young women with aspirations and ambitions, whom we will be training and grooming for the Singapore finals competition next month,” pageant national director Valerie Lim said. “We are excited for their journey ahead and hope that Singaporeans will come together to support them as we continue to bring empowered Singaporean voices to a global stage.”

The competition is led by popular creative fashion director Daniel Boey.

Current beauty queen Bernadette Belle Ong made a fashion statement in May when she strutted down the runway in Florida with a cape emblazoned with the words “Stop Asian Hate,” though Miss Mexico Andrea Meza won the title.

This year’s international pageant will take place in December in Israel’s southern city of Eilat. The eight Singaporean finalists will compete at 9pm on Sept. 17. Audiences can tune in via the first edition of virtual fashion show The Front Row.

They are more suitable for radio than tv.

m&d gal better don't represent S'pore, wait kenna attack by religious fanatics.

The m&d girls who take part in Miss Singapore gives most Singaporeans a far better impression of islam than their moslem religious scholars or the moslem fanatics who go around harassing moslem women to wear hijab or supporting islamic militancy.

If you want to take part in a beauty contest as a Southeast Asian woman, this is the minimum acceptable standard.

The girl in the music video:

The local chinks are descendants of Southern China kulis ie inferior stock. You need to go 东北 for beautiful Han women. I defer to @ilovechinesegal for advice as he is the true expert in Han women
Yes 东北 gals are tall and Chinese. Those very chio China Chinese gals have already been taken or married alrdy. Those come here are a lower grade.

As for sinkie chio Chinese gals, I saw so many on the streets and Instagram. I think they would rather to stay low and dig gold instead of becoming publicly known. Miss sinkie also can't get them into TVB anyway.
